THA’s organization includes subsidiaries and affiliates that strengthen the Association’s support for Texas hospitals.
Texas Healthcare Trustees
THT members also participate in THA’s advocacy activities through the Trustee Network of Texas, which serves as a national model for trustee grassroots advocacy efforts in other states. THT membership includes nearly 500 Texas hospitals and health systems, representing more than 4,000 trustees across the state. The Texas Academy of Governance, a program of the THT Foundation, sets standards for effective core governance competencies, and encourages voluntary practice of these standards to achieve excellence in health care governance. HealthShare/THA also manages/markets the THA Voluntary Insurance Programs, THA Retirement Plan and THA Patient Data System, and provides the due diligence, endorsement and management of endorsed companies to the Oklahoma Hospital Association, the Texas Healthcare Trustees and the Greater San Antonio Hospital Council. Approximately 12,000 hospital and health care employees statewide participate in the THA Retirement Plan, which has assets of nearly $350 million.
