Week 1

Designate a campaign coordinator and volunteer deputy registrar.

Designate a week for the voter registration drive.

Plan and schedule voter registration activities. (see planning guide)

Send all employees a memorandum from the CEO/administrator encouraging them to participate in the voter registration drive. (see sample)

Publish an article about the voter registration drive in the employee newsletter and/or post it to your internal Web site. (see sample)
Week 2
-
Obtain voter registration applications and other materials from your local voter registrar's office.

Insert reminders about the voter registration drive in employees' mid-month paychecks. (see sample)

Place posters announcing the voter registration drive throughout the hospital (in elevators, lobby areas, cafeteria, employee break rooms, etc.). (see sample)
Week 3

If appropriate, send a news release about the voter registration drive to local media outlets. (Note: Weekly publications may need the information sooner. Check with your local newspaper for deadlines.) (see sample)

Display tent cards promoting the voter registration drive in the cafeteria and on patient trays. (see sample)

E-mail reminder to staff, if possible.
Week 4

Conduct drive.

Deliver any voter registration applications to the voter registrar by Oct. 6.
Week 5

Publish an article about the importance of voting in the employee newsletter and/or post it to your internal Web site. Be sure to include a schedule and locations for early voting. (see sample)

Insert reminder about early voting opportunities in employees' mid-month paychecks. (see sample)
Week 6

Send all employees a memorandum from the CEO/administrator encouraging them to vote in the primary elections. (see sample)

Place get-out-the-vote posters throughout the hospital (in elevators, lobby areas, cafeteria, employee break rooms, etc.). (see sample)
Week 7

Display get-out-the vote tent cards in the cafeteria and on patient trays. (see sample)

Early voting by personal appearance takes place Oct. 20-31.
Nov. 4

General Election is held. If possible, send an e-mail to staff reminding them to vote if they have not already done so.
