THT Health Care Policy Workshop
To help prepare hospital board members to lead, govern and take action, Texas Healthcare Trustees is sponsoring a Health Care Policy Workshop Jan. 21-22 in conjunction with THA’s Leadership Conference at the Hilton Austin Hotel. The workshop focuses on equipping trustees to speak out and take action on the important issues facing Texas hospitals. Workshop sessions address:

In addition, the American Hospital Association and Schrayer and Associates will lead special training for trustees participating in the AHA pilot that seeks to engage more trustees in grassroots advocacy. Participants in the 2009 pilot program also will be involved in statewide advocacy efforts though THA. Sessions in this highly interactive training include “The Case for Activism,” “Building and Maintaining a Relationship with Policy Makers,” “Messaging/Communicating,” and “How Trustees Can Make a Difference.”
Trustees also will attend the THA Leadership Conference Awards Luncheon and opening-day luncheon in the exhibit hall. Trustees are encouraged to participate in the legislative visits and special reception at THA headquarters on January 22.
