Hospital of the Future: Why Being Great Will Increasingly Matter Stephen Gelineau, senior vice president, Cambridge Research Institute, Cambridge, Mass.
A rapidly evolving health care marketplace is forcing hospitals of all types to embrace the “good to great” challenge. As the bar for operating performance rises, executives are finding that what works today can be quickly outmoded in the face of new technology, pay for performance, transparency and niche competition for every inpatient and ambulatory service. Therefore, in a market where great will increasingly trump good, hospitals must enhance their ability to know where and how to invest resources and balance short-term performance with long-term strategic positioning. All of this must be achieved within the context of an effective working relationship with physicians – no small task given the pressures that doctors face and the growing inadequacy of existing processes for engaging them in strategic and operational problem-solving. This interactive seminar is designed to provide senior leaders with insights, tools and frameworks for tackling the good to great challenge.
Additional registration fee is required for this optional program: $275 members, $325 nonmembers
